I like to apply the original one before bed, after exfoliating my lips. When I wake up, my lips feel and look very hydrated and plumped. No flakey or chapped lips!
It is also great to wear underneath lipsticks. I often find that the liquid lipsticks that I use are quite drying and my lips look 'cracked' after a few hours. To prevent that from happening, I always apply this lip balm before putting on lipstick. It really makes a difference! I'm serious, my lips will stay hydrated all day - The lipstick will last the day without flaking or cracking.
But at the same time, I feel like Vaseline does a sinilar job at a cheaper price. I only use this product because it comes in handy tube that fits in my pocket... And I like honey :) -

This stuff goes on almost like lip gloss but absorbs quickly, without feeling sticky. It smells and tastes fantastic and one application keeps my lips feeling moisturized for hours! Plus a little goes a long way so the tube lasts several months.
