JenNo pilling and very comfortable!April 8, 2024I've previously used an older formulation of the essence suncreen, and that one pilled horribly on me . I heard that the older formulation of the gel type of this sunscreen also pilled quite a bit on others, but once I saw it got reformulated, I decided to give it a chance, and I'm sure glad I did! It feels very comfortable on the skin and dries down to a semi-matte finish. Since it doesn't pill, and there is no whitecast, I can comfortably put on 2 fingers worth of sunscreen on my face with no worries! This is definitely going to be my new go-to sunscreen.

- note: i use prescription 0.05% tretinoin cream nightly
i like to use this sunscreen on warmer days since my face might sweat. i don’t really sweat that much to begin with. in terms of my facial region, i’ll only sweat on my nose and upper lip. i did try using it all over my face and it was fine though did pill a little. i prefer only using this in small portions (areas i sweat and become the most oily aka my forehead).
it blends easily, hydrating, & has slight alcohol smell. if my skin was dehydrated or experiencing a dry spell, i would not use this. -
IsabelGREAT FOR SUMMER, OR OILY SKIN!March 26, 2024I have dry acne prone skin but still enjoy gel sunscreens for their hydration and lightweight consistency. especially in the summer. this does the job, it doesn’t sweat into my eyes, no stinging, no itchy mess, it’s a gel and when I put it in my face there is no cast. it just feels like water. if you are looking for something more hydrating then just water, get the essence!
