MEET OUR
CUSTOMER

Starting a business can be difficult, but it helps to receive advice from those who’ve done it before. To help new entrepreneurs, we’ve interviewed our cosmetics wholesale customers to learn more about their individual journeys towards successfully launching a business.

Through these conversations, we hope to gain insight into the world of Korean cosmetics and skin care entrepreneurship! We’re excited to share their stories with other aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those with an interest in selling Korean cosmetics online.

What are your preferred channels for selling Korean Cosmetics and/or Japanese Cosmetics?

Website and offline shop.

How did you get your business going when you first started it?

We started as an Instagram shop and had many Instagram posts about different products explaining their key selling points.

Where do you see your business 5 or 10 years from now?

Earlier this year, we stepped out of our comfort zone and rented an offline shop in Mongkok in Hong Kong. We are very blessed for what we have now :)! Wish that we could open more branches in the near future and grow bigger!

My business has grown a lot, especially in the last few years, so I hope I can keep it up.

Kim Ratha

Owner

My business is selling Korean products such as cosmetics, skin care and other fragrance products.

What are your preferred channels for selling Korean Cosmetics and/or Japanese Cosmetics?

Instagram and Facebook.

How did you get your business going when you first started it?

We started off by providing legitimate products which can be hard to find here as when we first started, not a lot of people know how to do shipping.

Where do you see your business 5 or 10 years from now?

I see us as a physical business rather than an online shop as we plan to expand our business into shops and stores across the country.

HUNG NGUYEN

We have 7 years experience in selling cosmetics in Australia. We have our own target audience and we retail through cosmetics consumer groups on the Facebook platform in Australia.

How did you get your business going when you first started it?

TRY HARD and actively advertise in groups.

Where do you see your business 5 or 10 years from now?

Even bigger than now, and we're trying to expand and find more customers, not just Asians.

Itzel Acevedo

Beauty for LATAM

Our company name is shopperbridge. In 2011 we created a small business where our first target was local customers and family members.

Then we started a blog to offer a variety of products from Korea and Asia. Later on we developed our social media but had to make a pause.

Later on we restarted our services adding skin care to the catalogue, and created an online store and started selling also in some marketplaces.

What are your preferred channels for selling Korean Cosmetics and/or Japanese Cosmetics?

Our online store, social media and to some degree marketplaces.

How did you get your business going when you first started it?

It was first on a recommendation basis, with friends, classmates (since i was still in university) and family, and they started to recommend us to their friends.

Since we couldn't have much stock, we used to receive orders and then after some time we brought the items to them.

Later on with the webpage and social media we started to open order periods and also stock products, which brought us more customers.

Where do you see your business 5 or 10 years from now?

I see us as a more solid business with a bigger audience where we introduce new products and favorites, not just to Mexico but also to all Latin American countries. We're already experts on their local regulations to receive cosmetics/skin care so the final client can receive their favorite products.
