S GMinor AllergyApril 9, 2025I read that papain is an enzyme used for gentle chemical exfoliation and thought it would be suitable for my sensitive skin. They work at a neutral pH so they don’t make the formula acidic to exfoliate the skin so it should be less irritating than AHA/BHA. The cleanser does soften the skin and not dry it out.
Unfortunately, I had a minor allergic reaction to it… so make sure to do a patch test.
