HayleyNot the bestNovember 17, 2023This has a really bad white cast. I'm very pale, but even on my skin, it took forever to rub this in enough for me to not look like I'm covered in streaky, lumpy white paint. It clings to hair really bad too because it's so white and the texture is very thick, so you need to be extra careful with your hairline, peach fuzz, eyebrows, etc. It does eventually sink in and feels pretty much normal when it does, no oiliness or anything, but if you don't rub it in REALLY REALLY WELL it will stay white and streaky looking until you wipe it off. It doesn't "add glow" like the description says, it looks accidental. It doesn't look good. I'd spend probably about five minutes rubbing this into my skin to make it look normal enough to make an acceptable base for foundation, so if your skin can't take that much friction without getting irritated, definitely don't bother. Probably don't use this if you aren't going to put makeup on top of it, either.
I didn't any issues with it pilling or separating under foundation though, nor did I have any issues with eye irritation. Overall, it works, it's better than no sunscreen at all, but it's definitely very annoying to apply and just isn't the best choice overall. I used the whole thing but I wasn't happy about it, I just didn't want it to feel like a total waste of money. I'd recommend Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel over this to pretty much anyone.
