There is a light fragrance, but it is not overpowering. It is safe in every other way, but not fungal acne safe; however, my skin loves it even though I experience fungal acne from time to time. As for its brightening effects or fading acne marks, I am still testing it and will be back here after a month of use. By the way, I love its dark packaging and the pump that makes it easy to get the serum.
