Vicky409 Mauve GemFebruary 5, 2026Bought as a substitute for the now discontinued Hip Brown by Peripera, because I kind of regret not getting it. Based on research, it's almost similar. Mauve Gem is a bit red leaning and in my opinion a much safer color for cool tones, especially soft/mute summers. On me it looks a tad brownish, or purple if I have neutralized my lip color.
I love using this lipstick as a base color, and depending on my mood I can combine it with a warm or a cool point color, but on it's own it's a decent MLBB shade too. It applies creamy initially and dries into powder. It may be a bit drying, so for that I always apply it on top of a thin layer of Vaseline or a lip mask. As with every regular lipstick, it's not that long lasting, so you'll need to reapply. The scent reminds me of your typical bullet lipsticks. -

I usually prefer pink colours, but #408 Bebe Almond is a very nice colour, it’s slightly warm toned on me. I also love to use it as a blush!
